Kids are perceptive!LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian revealed toExtra's Mario Lopezon Wednesday, July 23, that they have discussed their marital affair with the actor's two sons, Mason andJake.
"The kids actually came to us," Rimes, 31, said of her stepsons, "and asked very nonchalantly over dinner."
How did the singer and her husband respond? "Eddie was very honest with them in a way that you can be with a 7-year-old and 11-year-old," Rimes revealed. "He's always the first person to say how much he loves me, and they see that in our house, and they feel that, so I think it’s important not to lie to children. They understand way more."
She elaborated: "We both never want them to come back and say, 'You weren’t honest with us about this,'" she explained to Lopez. "They're very open with us, which is cool."
Cibrian shares Mason and Jake with his ex-wife Brandi Glanville.The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 41, and the For Better or Worse actor, 41, have a long and contentious history: The two divorced in 2010 after Cibrian cheated with Rimes. Their most recent public spat took place in February after Glanville alleged that her ex asked her to pay child support, which Cibrian denied.
"2 all these young unmarried bloggers writing about getting over divorce & not seeing ur children grow up 1/2 the time, walk a mile in my shoes," Glanville tweeted.
Rimes and Cibrian have most recently used their VH1 reality showLeAnn & Eddie as a platform to air their daily lives—and complaints. In one preview, Cibrian took a jab at Glanville saying: "Contrary to what some people think [coughs] my ex-wife, I actually do work."
